Brian Crombie Hour

Brian Crombie runs his own financial consultancy advisory firm specializing in acquisitions, financing, corporate development and strategy for small and medium-sized businesses. He is currently CFO for an NHL Hockey Team and Part-Time CFO for several other companies in the pharma, real estate and entertainment industries. He has previously worked as CFO for Biovail Corporation and PurGenesis Technologies and in finance, corporate development and strategy for several companies including: The Jim Pattison Group, The Molson Companies and The Walt Disney Company. Brian has experience in Investment Banking with Morgan Stanley and in consulting with Laventhol & Horwath. Brian also is a visiting lecturer at the Degroote School of Business and at Directors College.

Brian is the Chair of Transit Alliance, was the founder and Co-chair of the Mississauga and Western GTA Summits and was President of the Mississauga Arts Council. Brian has lots of experience in politics at all three levels of government running campaigns, producing policy, writing speeches and as Presidents of Riding Associations in Toronto, Vancouver and Mississauga.

Brian has an HBA from the Ivey School of Business, graduated with an MBA and as a Baker Scholar from Harvard Business School and is currently completely a DBA at Case Western Reserve University and the International School of Management. His research topic is Social Capital in Innovative Clusters in times of Financial Duress. Brian speaks on this research in an inspirational instructional talk: Community and the Power of Co.
