Voices Behind the Mic
“Voices Behind the Mic” is a two-episode radio show that dives into the personal and professional lives of the six main hosts at Sauga 960AM. In the first episode, Greg Carrasco, Jack Berkovits and Marc Patrone are interviewed while Norm Murray, Richard Syrett and Brian Crombie are interviewed in the second episode. All six of these hosts bring years of experience, knowledge and character to the airwaves, all making their mark in this world in a way that is individual and unique to them. As a younger broadcaster and emerging social justice journalist, Julia Vellucci, who was an intern at Sauga 960AM and the host of this two-episode series learned a great deal from them and has developed a deep admiration for their careers.
As Julia is currently at crossroads as she nears the end of her college career and her internship at Sauga 960AM, these episodes explore the crossroads the six main hosts faced throughout their journeys, the challenges they’ve overcome and the unique perspectives they’ve gained along the way. Their stories offer a glimpse into the resilience required to navigate the ever-evolving world of broadcasting. Each host has something different to offer, may it Greg who comes from an automotive background, Jack with a business and religious background or Marc who has three decades of experience in TV News, Radio and online media. Norm comes from a broadcasting background, Richard has had over 30 years in radio on both sides of the microphone and Brian has a business and political background. They each offer something different with some similarities and all offer something amazing to the station and the world.
